1. The characteristics of the filling of the Holy Spirit

A. The filling of the Holy Spirit is designed to change you from the inside out. Ephesians 5:18; Acts 2:13, 15

B. God commands you to be filled with His Spirit. Ephesians 5:18

 C. The filling of the Holy Spirit should be a continuous reality in your life. Ephesians 5:18

D. The filling of the Holy Spirit is God's control of your life. Ephesians 5:18; John 16:6; Luke 5:26; Luke 6:11; Acts 5:3, 6:5, 7:55

2. The conditions for the filling of the Holy Spirit

A. You quench the Spirit of God when you want your own way. Thessalonians 5:19

B. You grieve the Spirit of God when you sin. Ephesians 4:30; 1 John 1:9

C. The filling of the Holy Spirit is a result of your relationship with Christ. Galatians 3:1-5; Ephesians 1:3; 2 Peter 1:3

3. The results of the filling of the Holy Spirit

A. You will praise and thank God. Ephesians 5:19-20

B. You will subject yourself to other people. Ephesians 5:21, 22, 25; 6:1, 4, 5, 9; Matthew 14:22-23; Matthew 16:15-17; John 18:10; Acts 2:14; Acts 3:6; Acts 4:18-29
